The objective of this English Language Lab is to facilitate the understanding of basic English Language and communication skills and also to inculcate a culture of English Speaking and thinking among the student community.

With a view to roster the culture of speaking English well among the children of St. Xavier's School, Doranda, we have established the English Language Lab in 2005.

The students are trained to motivate themselves with lots of co-curricular activities in the Language Lab. It is equally important that the students learn to read, write and speak well. Hence, we ensure that the students become fluent in voicing their views on their learned topics. It helps them in maintaining their attitude based on the style that they inculcate during the training.

Moreover, this helps them in developing their personality as well as their thinking capacity. They get prepared to face the world outside which demands well-groomed personalities. The well-equipped Lab enables the pupils to handle the situations according to the psychology that they attain while being trained to answer to different types of questions and problems through good communication.

English in India, is used as a medium of communication by more than eighty million people, an estimate which far surpasses the speakers of English even in Great Britain. Despite the acrimonious debates in the past, it has finally emerged into a vibrant medium that has successfully created a niche for itself. Not only has it blended itself with the cultural and social life of the country, it has empowered the young and vibrant Indians to use it for a source of livelihood too. Since language is a system of sounds and word patterns, it can be learnt best in no other places than in a language lab. Hence the long cherished dream to have a state-of-art English Language Lab to hone up the four skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing of our students along with personality development could be a reality after getting tremendous contribution, expertise and experience of M/s Drishika.

English is the most spoken and most widely recognized language in the world. It is thus natural for us to know it well. we have a language lab in our school that contains special equipments to help the students learn phonetics by listening to their voices on tapes. They watch videos to understand the elements of effective speaking. The students can record their voices so as to know the defects in their pronunciations. However, we must not forget the weakness of the native learners that their mother tongues have different intonations and pronunciations. As such, the lab takes care of such backgrounds during the training.

The lab builds an atmosphere around the learners who take no time in attuning themselves to the requirements of the English Language. It aims at not only the correctness of the articulations but it also instils great self-confidence among them and fills new hope and more enthusiasm for the language itself. What is most important here that the learners pave ahead in building a personality that makes the world around today.
